We meet to dance on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month except July and August (and we skip clashes with Christmas, etc.). Note; after March 2011 there will be no more 5th Tuesday dances. The meetings take place in Headingley Parish Hall (see the Directions page). For the actual dates of the dances see here.
The evening runs from 8.00 to about 10.00, with the music of our resident band, All the Right Notes ! . Callers are usually drawn from the club membership, although occasional visitors may be invited to call.
All the dances are explained, and you will be welcomed and asked to dance. Even if you came as a couple, do dance with lots of other people as well -- that's how we make friends and share skills.
The cost is £3.00 and we sometimes have a raffle, so you might go home with wine or chocolates.
Sadly, due to a continuous decline in the number of dancers which made both the cost of the hall and the process of Contra Dancing unviable, we decided that the final Tuesday night dance would be held on June 24th 2025 after 27 years. We had an enjoyable and friendly send off. Thank you to All the Right Notes ! who have supported us faithfully and to all the callers who have delivered a fascinating selection of dances over the years.
